Chase the Sun is Published
December 15, 2015
Chartwell Press is pleased to announce the publication of Chase the Sun: Nine Short Stories of Passion, Betrayal, and Revenge, by Christine Silk. The book was originally released in ebook form in 2013. Chartwell Press is now launching the paperback version, along with a new-edition ebook version for those who prefer to have it in digital format.
The collection of stories is aimed at a mainstream audience, and it spans a variety of subjects and settings, including Edwardian London, a futuristic Boston in the year 2054, and a quirky restaurant in the south of France. The main characters range in age from teenagers to elderly war survivors, and they come from a variety of occupations and social classes, including an English aristocrat, to a Las Vegas bartender, a Florida flight attendant, and a Québécois street artist.
Ms. Silk explains her philosophy about writing fiction: “All stories must entertain their readers and hold their attention. But what distinguishes good fiction from merely entertaining fiction? What makes a story stay with you days after you’ve finished it? One of my purposes in writing a particular story is to illuminate something about the human condition, to go beyond mere entertainment and draw the reader into another life, into another mind, another perspective, so that they come away from the story haunted for awhile – perhaps even changed.”
Chase the Sun is available at Amazon. Ms. Silk’s website is christinesilk.com.
